I design, and hand make, polymer clay jewellery in my home studio in Salisbury. I have several starting points for when I am creating new designs and they fall mainly into three areas - nature, art and a love of colour. I might be out for a walk in our lovely countryside around Salisbury and get inspired by a particular colour combination in nature, or the shape of a leaf.My art and design training has also given me a love of visiting exhibitions and galleries which can provide small seeds of ideas to start the creative process.My other main inspiration is experimenting with colour and different techniques to see what happens with polymer clay along with other materials, such as acrylics, resin, foils, guilding liquid, alcohol inks and chalk pastels, sometimes this results in the most exciting and beautiful designs.I aim to make the process as sustainable as possible by reusing any scraps of clay left over in the process of making. These make new, beautiful colours and unique designs.I use packaging from a company that uses sustainable sourced recycled materials which are biodegradable and recyclable and uses 100% green hydro-electricity.My best sellers are stud earrings, pendants and dangle earrings, in a variety of sizes and designs, varying from small and dainty to large and bold, to suit a wide range of occasions, moods and individuals. All earrings are super lightweight and very comfortable to wear. The processes I use make it almost impossible to repeat a design exactly so each piece is unique. This also keeps the design process fresh and innovative.
