Interactive cake icing demonstration for children
Demonstration of walking stick manufacture with history and explanation/ education of timber use different horn/antler uses and use of tools. Plus a selection of finished coppice products (sourced from Dorset coppice - Motcombe & Piddles Wood North Dorset) and sawn timber hand made products sourced from a south west sawmill.
Artistic blacksmith producing bespoke metalwork pieces for the home and garden.
Demonstration of traditional gypsy flower making using locally sourced hazel and elder. Variety of wooden goods available: walking sticks bird feeders solitary bee/insect habitats whistles and candle holders from locally sourced sustainable New Forest woodland
The NFWSD was founded in 1980 and presently has approx 50 members We are a diverse group of weavers spinners and dyers beginners to experts young and old who all share a love of textiles and desire to learn.. We meet at Greyfriars Community Centre in Ringwood on the second Saturday of every month (except August). We are affiliated to the National Association of Guilds of Weavers Spinners and Dyers and share its aims of preserving and promoting our core skills of weaving spinning and dyeing to improve the standard of these crafts and encourage public awareness.
